Organizations in business management, public administration and the conduct of civil society today face unprecedented challenges. The answers offered by business schools, management schools and connoisseurs, coaches and trainers do not usually get to the root of the complexity of the market, the political uncertainty, the weakening of the public sphere, phenomenons caused by acceleration technology and the "fluid" nature of social life. Hence the importance of critical management, a new organizational practice originally started in the UK, which draws on the intellectual vigor of contemporary critical theory, and which has begun to spread through Europe, Asia and North America.
