Importing into Mexico - Success and Opportunities

In celebration of the recent successes by ANZMEX members Javier Mata, Javier Galindo and Imalinx, in Mexico, ANZMEX invites you to a breakfast in which they will be speaking about their trials and successes in importing live sheep and Kiwi fruit into Mexico from New Zealand. Additionally, there will be a discussion on the success of the TPP and the opportunities it presents to Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.

The programme includes:

  • The chief economist of the CNA will discuss the recently confirmed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and what that means for business in Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Additionally he will present a brief overview of the challenges and opportunities in agricultural trade between Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.
  • Javier Mata from Austeca and Javier Galindo from Grupo Agroindustrial Querencia who, in July 2015, successfully imported  to Mexico by ship, 45,000 pregnant sheep and 3,200 breeding cattle from New Zealand. This was the largest ever shipment of breeding sheep to come out of NZ
  • The story of Imalinx who, in June 2015, worked together with New Zealand company Zespri to negotiate the placement of one Zespri SunGold Kiwi in every happy meal in over 400 MacDonald's stores around Mexico
