In Mexico, to achieve success in the mining sector the companies and the government need to collaborate effectively. No one can do it alone. The Mexican economy needs a strong mining sector. A sector that is able to grow and develop, but this time value will be driven not only by growth and revenues but also by the social and environmental performance and impact. Success will be measured by the sustainability of economic development.

On one side, the Mexican mining authorities know time is a consideration and have started to move quickly. They know tangible results need to happen soon in order to set the basis for long term success. On the other side, the companies need certainty and security to continue to operate. Production is still jeopardize by insecurity and bad practice. In order to face the challenges of the sector are both sectors going in the same direction? The journey will take time, but it is important for both sectors to have shared goals. How close or how far are we of achieving this?
