In a few weeks, Mexico will have a new president, various new governors, and a renewed Congress and Senate. The polls suggest Mexico will elect its first woman president in history. One candidate represents the continuity of the current project. The other candidate represents the interruption of that project and – perhaps – a return to previously approved policies in the energy sector. Nevertheless – and regardless of the election result – experts suggest that the future of Natural Gas in Mexico’s economy is promising. If companies and governments adapt successfully to market dynamics, invest in the necessary infrastructure, wisely navigate regulatory scenarios, and strengthen collaboration across the entire value chain. Yes, if all that happens, the future is promising.

That said, what are the probable scenarios for the next six years? Would that positive promise materialise for the good of the Mexican and regional economies? The companies, the new government, the environment, and the consumers: Who will win and why?

Our Energy Debate is back, don’t miss this one out!

The Chatham House Rule will be enforced and the debate will be conducted in English.
